Everything this site renders comes from plain JSON files at stable URLs. They are public domain, served with Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *, and free to use in your own apps — no key, no signup, no rate limits beyond CDN fair use.

Book ids are lowercase English slugs for every translation (“john”, “1-corinthians”, “song-of-solomon”), so URLs are predictable across languages: /bible/diodati/john/3.json is Giovanni 3.

Verse fields

• v — verse number; ve marks the end of a bridged range (“17–18”)
• t — plain text; poetry lines are joined with \n
• q — per-line poetry indent levels, parallel to t’s lines
• p / b — a paragraph / stanza break starts before this verse
• s — section heading; ms — major section; d — Psalm superscription

Missing verse numbers are translator omissions (e.g. Acts 8:37 in the ASV), exactly as in print editions. The Vulgate keeps Latin Psalm numbering; the WLC keeps Hebrew versification.

Stability & licensing

These URLs are stable: breaking schema changes would ship under a new path prefix, never in place. The current schema version is declared in manifest.json. Responses are cached at the CDN for 24 hours. If you plan to fetch the whole corpus regularly, please mirror it instead — the upstream sources are also freely available.
